the prefrontal cortex is basically your brain's traffic cop. when it's overloaded or sleep deprived it goes quiet, and the limbic system runs the show. "all quiet" sounds funny but it's also why you can feel impulsive and foggy at the same time.
That's fascinating, thanks. Does this explain the reason that, when I'm particularly tired, I can't filter my face and/or speech so often say things I'd normally only think?
And also other lobes are not that noisy, tbh 💁🏼♀️
