Why I don’t take “constructive criticism” from my book reviews:

Review 1: “The spice in this book bordered on erotica, I wish there was less.”
Review 2: “The spice was mild, could have used more.”

Same book, different tastes, neither review is wrong but neither is feedback for me the author. It’s there to help other readers decided if this is the book for them.

I moved out at 18 and in with my biological dad, thinking he’d be a better parent (somehow, he was worse than the mother I wanted away from). I had to work to support my little brother and sister while a senior in high school. I met my then boyfriend at work.

He was my manager, 23, so not too much older.
