I love it when kids say things like this .I was at the playground with my son when he was little. One of the young kids got hurt and was crying. I was reading a book nearby and I heard my son say to him “if you need a hug, you can go get a hug from my mom. She loves to hug everybody.”
I got an 18 year old daughter that way. The girl, S.,had been living with my now husband for 5 years. She was the daughter of my husband‘s former girlfriend. My teen daughter, J., once told her that I was getting at her nerves. S, sighing: „I wish I had a mother like yours.“ J: „I can share her with you, Mami has a big heart.“ They came to me and I agreed. Fast forward: Today, I have two grandchildren from her who I love dearly, 8 and 6. I often get them overnight.
Oh hey! You sing in our car quite often as well! I made my kid a playlist when she was a baby of all the songs that would get her unreasonably hyped. “Two Princes” is on there!

So sweet. I’m reminded of the time I was driving my kid to school and we were listening to @depechemode he sang out “reach out and touch face” as he tried to reach out and touch my face 😂(in case anyone wants to correct me. I do know the lyrics are reached out and touch faith that’s why it’s funny.)
Creep is my toddlers favorite song, whenever she’s angry we can play it and she feels better. It’s only not worked like twice which is amazing for her 😅
Sometimes you just gotta get the feelings out!! When my daughter was a toddler, we would do “toddler mosh pit” when she was angry and put on “Bodies” by Drowning Pool and just let her go absolutely apeshit in the living room. 😂
