The controls weren't tightened after Apollo 13. The simple explanation for not getting to cover Apollo 14 was that I had started my freshman year at the Univ. of Texas at Austin just 4 months earlier and I would have had to skip classes for several weeks. I got to cover Apollo 15 that year because it was during the summer.

I just finished at my first Discworld Con, Nullus Anxietas X in Sydney. What a ride! 3 highlights:
1. Being interviewed on-stage while painting a picture live-streamed to the big screen! Agghh!
2. Meeting lots of fun fantasy fans and Discworldians.
3. The reader who bought my books on Saturday and came back on Sunday just to tell me stayed up late because she couldn’t put my first book down, and she was already two-thirds through it, and couldn’t wait to start the second book.

And I sold out!
