Some folks are deeply offended when you don’t accept their “compliments”

Unfortunately, a lot of our “compliments” are rooted in beliefs and values others have rejected and divested of, so they aren’t received as compliments. Ageism is an area where this is quite difficult for folks to grasp.

If someone respectfully corrects your “compliment”, it is a sign of emotional maturity to receive the correction and think on it a bit rather than becoming a “Well, fk you then!” bitter jerk.

The downside of writing a book that heavily features a ranch is figuring out what kind of cattle they'd actually have because inaccuracy will drive me up the wall.

I had NO clue. It wasn’t Amazon that killed Sears. Funny how they always blame the people for killing a thing when it comes backt the one man at the top.

Capitalism is truly a pox. How these people sleep at night is a wonder.

They talk smack about California but they all end up out here on vacation...

Someone rudely and unpromptedly told me I’m single because I’m “the problem.”

And honestly, I agree. I’m an unusual person. Not special, just unorthodox. I know who I am, and I know what works for me and what doesn’t.

That’s meant a lot of time being single, a high level of discernment with men, and that makes me a problem to most men who are really just looking for a mother or caretaker.

So yes, I am proudly and unreservedly “the problem.”
