When I was working on a Warner show we shared a lobby with Extra. One of the best/ most terrifying things I ever experienced was when Brandy’s mom came in and raised hell over them wanting to air a sex tape made of Brandy and someone…I don’t remember. I do remember her mom and thinking as jaded as we all were about stage moms, no one had ever loved or cared as fiercely about me as her mom did in that moment about Brandy. And all her arguments were about her child, not her child’s career.
They way the rest of the group laughed it off during that interview was absolutely disgusting. Along with the deflection from comments asking where were her parents as if that absolves Wanya’s decision to be with a child.
Asking where the parents were is the part that pisses me off! He was a grown ass man who knew better. The responsibility was on him not to do anything.
The people supporting Wanya are disgusting. This is why abusers in the Black community are protected and girls are continually harmed.
