Every single day, we lose people to this dreadful intersection of grief, trauma and injustice- and then we tell them to resilience their way through it.

I was just thinking about that father who made his kids ask permission to leave their bedrooms.

Because my dad was an abusive psycho, who made my childhood feel like a minefield when he was home, but he never locked me into my bedroom like I was in prison.
