😂= Funny
🤣= Funny AF
💀= It was so funny I’m currently dying from a lack of oxygen due to uncontrollable laughter.
Idk but this is my progression:
😂 > 🤣 > 😭 > 💀

😂= lol
🤣 = lmao
😭= crying laughing
💀= I’m fucking dead
😂 - Standard use "This is funny enough for me to actually laugh out loud."
🤣 - "I have used 😂 too many times in my last few messages and am bored with it but need to indicate that this is also funny enough to make me laugh out loud."
Wait. Elder millennial here. does 😭 really mean something is extra funny because if so I’ve used this incorrectly in so many inappropriate scenarios
Guys. Gen X here. This 😭 is crying. Like upset crying. I mean, look where it's listed - right after the sad face, it's nowhere near any of the Lol faces. You can't convince me otherwise.

🤣 = 😏

Sometimes I use 🤣 because I think it’ll make me more hip to the youth but really I just want to 😂😂😂 to everything

Basically equivalent to the decision between a period and an exclamation point at the end if a sentence.
Then when I put “💀” it means I am inconsolable

“Oh, I already used ‘😂’ too many times? Time to switch to ‘🤣 ‘ so I don’t embarrass myself.”
Never use “🤣” it’s corny. “😂” is fine for a regular laugh but not when you’re crying laughing. If it’s actually that funny just use “😭”. And before y’all ask yes I am a millennial.

😂 is the default laugh, like yeah it was funny, but 🤣 requires me to open up the full emoji keyboard to use it, so if I do, I want you to know I put in that extra two seconds of effort because I found it REALLY funny

I am allergic to 🤣. I have two settings. 😂 or 💀, with 😭 in a pinch when my inner world is turmoil of glee and this gif
