A swimmer had to be rescued at Bondi Beach in Sydney as huge waves inundated the New South Wales coastline amid weather conditions billed as a potential “one-in-50 to one-in-100-year event.”

Drone footage captured by local resident Dan Wilkinson, who goes by @hotndelicious on Instagram, shows the swimmer being brought to safety on a lifeguard’s jet ski.

Other footage shows daredevil surfers braving what Wilkinson said were “monster waves.”
