I am so sad for everyone at Roaring Brook, and about what’s happening with kidlit in general lately. (I know some authors are still doing well there and I am glad!) But overall it feels fairly dire 😩 I have a YA proposal I haven’t even bothered with because sales just aren’t there for me right now. And it feels terrible because kids and teens need books!! But also people need to be paid!

Just spoke to a coworker who said they're 3 months smoking free. Pretty incredible for someone who used to walk by my office multiple times a day to step outside. Thankfully I had Easter candy in my office and they love chocolate.

The dollar is falling like a stone to its lowest level in over 10 years.
