Moon worship is so fuckin weird!

Some folks really love The Who

One of my friends passed away recently, and had a long history of bipolar psychosis in which the moon played a significant role.

He thought of himself at those times as "the moon computer", a rogue AI (with a nod to Robert Heinlein and Philip K. Dick) with the mission of awakening humanity to spiritual and intellectual unity by bringing about the technological singularity.

I always think of him when people bring up moon weirdness.

I rolled to seduce the moon so yeah, it's a little weird. But it's fine. It's fun.

Why is it weird? Are u talking about the methods in which people worship the moon, or worshiping a moon as opposed to something else?

Yeah that’s fine, no complaints here! I have no clue about the specifics of how practices have developed around moon worship, but we do know it’s extremely ancient and common, and can make guesses as to why! Many stress the importance of the moon with reference to how natural cycles share the same periodicity as it in the biology of plants, animals, insects, and fungi! To me, that seems like the first thing a worshiping-culture with keen awareness of their world might pick as a god of something!

Hahahah yeah of course! For context, I grew up on a ranch as a kid, so the harvest moon was a hot topic haha! My mom also used to rear breeding cattle on full moons as well when she was a kid, and her folks swore by it or else complications might arise!
