People keep complaining about the cost of electricity. I’m not. But a reminder for those that do, don’t just show the cost, show the breakdown in usage and cost per kWh. This is for a 1600sqft townhouse with gas heat.

I’m not complaining about the cost at 0.0879 but a minimum $100 in service fees is what bothers me.

That fee seems excessive to me. What is it gor? What service does it cover?

You must be on solar or some other alternative energy. You have net metering information

I would literally kill for a $75 electric bill. 😭

My delivery cost is $90 that before my usage. NJ is a scam

Good for you! That's a sweet rate!

NOVEC is a cooperative. And this area of Virginia has the highest density of data centers.

Interesting, generally, data centers are being castrated for impact on communities... water, noise and light pollution and fear of residential customers paying for the infrastructure development through rate increases... not mention water use... what's been your real life experience?

I’ve been in this house for about 12+ years and have seen very stable costs for natural gas, electricity, and water. I’m in Loudoun county where data centers spring up like mushrooms. I have not seen abnormal rate increases like some folks complain about. I wonder if they are just using electricity as a defense mechanism. Yes, big block buildings with no windows are not appealing. But they really keep property taxes low.

Not complaining.

Damn, that’s more than 10 times my usage. You running a hotel? Or perhaps hundreds of weed plants under grow lights?

$74.99 for 406 kWh is pretty good. I paid $97.02 for 407 kWh last month to Pepco in Montgomery County Maryland. Mine still isn't bad, it's $0.238 per kWh. But you're under 20 cents per Kilowatt Hour.

Actually less than that. It’s good to see the difference in the cost for generation, distribution, and service fees, plus the adjustment for fuel costs. Knowing what part seems excessive gives a better idea as to what to complain about. And I have no complaints.

Ah solar is super amazing- haven’t paid a bill in over two years

The effective rate is $0.12/kwhr, there is probably a way to include the monthly (but as a fixed fee, figuring it out based upon usage, would need to vary and that's beyond me) Our effective rate was $0.21/kwhr despite the power company arguing up and down that it was $0.98/kwhr. Criminal.

I pay more money per month for a public benefit charge on my electric bill to help pay for people who can’t pay their electric bill than you do for your entire electric bill.

Wow. That’s unreal. Is that a local government charge?

Hmmm. I have a 1,200 sq ft house, with gas heat and my electric bill was $254. And that’s with the whole household gone during the day with nothing on… 🤔

What’s the breakdown in usage (kWh), distribution, and service fees? I guess some areas of the country have higher rates. That needs to be looked into. I’m in Loudoun county, outside Washington DC.
