To be fair - you cannot have an all-volunteer military and recognize any real form of bodily autonomy.
Unwavering fidelity has always been the requirement, it was just slightly broader than fidelity to 1 individual person before Hegseth and trump.
He reminds me of the jock at school who thumped his chest a lot. Couldn’t pass an exam or write an essay on his own. He’d suck up to a good student, get them to do his homework for him, then kick them to the curb in ftont if his low-forehead buddies.
