The launch of my second cookbook, Homemade, was one of the hardest things I've had to work through in my professional career. I've honestly been too scared to read any reviews on it--especially as I've waded deep into politics in the past year on my social media. I fear that readers will take their rage out on my book and, for better or worse, my book is like my child. I thus haven't read a single review on my book since pub week.
