You CANNOT underestimate how deep and normalized fat jokes have been in books up until maybe five seconds ago and I *still* read new books with fat jokes in them. We are talking casual offhand remarks in whimsical fairy tales. Hilarious Mr. Ha-Ha remarks from THE LOVE INTEREST. I never noticed them until I started looking through a body-positive lense as an adult and once you start, you realize how pervasive they are.

My entire feed on Threads and IG is Project Hail Mary stuff, and honestly, I’m so okay with that. I loved the movie so much, I know I need to read the book, and I’ve genuinely not sobbed that much in years 😭😭😭😭. I’m still thinking about it
