I’m colorblind, so I can definitely vouch for the texture thing being real.
I buy clothing or other things based on texture, patterns, type of material, etc.
I also enjoy high contrast as well as it helps distinguish edges/borders of things.
I am not 100% sure what the corrent beauty standards are, but I can appreciate the myriad of choices being made.
So colorblindness might play a role, I think it’s more of a societal push to create standards as a form of control/identification(?)

No, I do not think that we need to study why men's colorblindness affects women's beauty standards.
The things she listed are still very superficial.
The problem here is saying they don't like that about women, but they look like chumps.
The real study should be why men have the cognitive dissonance about hating those things about women while they look like shriveled up pickles.

Yep, and that explains why color is now absent from the industrialized world. It's almost entirely male built and led. Cars are muted, apartment buildings, offices, banks, even fast food chains are becoming muted. High schoolers are all wearing nothing but black and grey with white sneakers.
There is an emotional reaction to color, thats the connection. Color is excitement, creative, mostly positive. Gray & black are dull, nothing. Black is actually threatening when it engulfs an object. Depressed or overstimulated ppl crave stillness, a void. One of my friends is quiet & subdued. Her entire house is red inside. My happy, energetic enthusiastic friends favor blues & greens, restful colors. The darker the color, the more authoritative. Lighter, pastels project innocence & whimsy
I still think it’s mostly just their desire to be pedos. For example, most black women don’t lose radiance or start getting “texture”in undesirable places at those ages. I think what this, and the whole “beauty standards are determined by pedophilia” theories miss, is that most beauty standards are determined by sexual dimorphism
Humans are subconsciously wired to see increased sexual dimorphism as more attractive, as it is a signifier of fertility (ie a woman having higher testosterone, or a man with low testosterone are more likely to be correlated with conditions that cause infertility)
Softer skin, fewer hairs, and less acne are traits related to estrogen
And like, obviously these evolutionary traits developed before hormone therapys (like the kind used to help men with lower testosterone ejaculate) or fertility treatments became widely available to humans

This is not to say that white women weren’t and aren’t still complicit with this infantilization

It’s about racism and pedophilia and sexism and capitalism. Radiance and texture and what that means in this context come from those beliefs, the value we place on those terms and what they mean come from those beliefs. Just seeing less color doesn’t mean you prefer less texture? Sorry love but this is a huge stretch and not true. The research is already out there with books about beauty standards - used to create racial hierarchies, used to sell beauty products, etc.
Counter: as someone with curly hair, I cannot express to you how much men prefer the untamed locks over it straightened.

If you were in my AP Seminar class, I would encourage you to run with this inquiry. Your literature review needs to be more than just that one book. Look for other foundational texts that help ground your inquiry in research instead of anecdote. The line of reasoning from observation to question has some leaps of logic you need to bridge.

Now it’s time to test this hypothesis. Test it in cultures where women don’t shave and men have a different cultural attraction towards women’s body type that has more weight, cellulite or stretch marks. Plus, women shaving is a recent phenomenon.
Age pressures on women are due to a historical control over women for children and male heirs to property. As death during childbirth was common for women and children dying before adulthood was also common.
