Reminds me of a college friend, he hails from a rich af Chinese merchant clan and ever since BEFORE we graduated, he already manages multiple businesses. A café, selling truck wheels, a burger place, a pickleball place, etc. Some went down (esp during covid) and some did well.

Even IF all his businesses goes down, he still has money & could still work for his family's company

To anyone who reads this, you are not a failure, you just cant afford to try again, nor can you have more options

On one hand, yes. One the other, my career path has been: Gymnastics Coach, then Graphic Designer, then drove some bin trucks and hauled garbage cause why not, then Project Manager at a Web firm, then Freelance Graphic Designer and now I work for a major hotel chain.

I'm WAY closer to being poor than being rich, but it's easy to change directions if you're willing to try something new and aren't scared to jump into the unknown. Being rich just gives them an extra safety net.

When your grandfather is a successful entrepreneur, and your father was Canada's most influential prime minister from 1968 to 1985, you have 50 hectares of land by 1990, a house worth several million, and investments in all of Canada's major industries.

Well, as a kid, you can afford to do whatever you want in life.

As a kid, I used to spread margarine on bread and sprinkle it with salt.

That was my fucking cake.

Not necessarily. I've changed directions 5 times (I'm including 7years as a stay at home Mom - my fav) In my 70's heading back to uni again. Life is always an adventure though never rich, not even close.

That's awesome. Great job. My mother went back to school in her 60s and finally got into a career she truly enjoyed. She's not stacking up cash but she's the happiest I've seen her these days. I hope it works out for you!

Havent heard more nonsense. Doing a little bit of everything=unqualified for anything. He successfully demonstrated it being prime minister

I’ve had at least 43 different job titles in my years. I’m definitely not rich. If it doesn’t work for you, do something different.

His "trust fund" gave him like $20,000/year. Is that rich? Yes, he has benefitted from the family name, but the "money" was limited

It’s so crazy how being born both rich and the son of the Canadian Prime Minister open up opportunities to you!

Both of them are impressive: in the sense that it’s remarkable that a person can be both vapid and odious.
