I don’t think it’s about men being afraid of being treated how women were treated. It’s about mixed expectations. Men are expected to provide, support, and still be available, while also being told not to limit a woman’s independence. That balance gets messy. I’ve lived it I supported someone’s goals, worked nights, handled what I had to so she could build what she wanted. When it became my turn to focus on my path, the support didn’t go both ways. That’s the frustration it’s about reciprocity.
