And now, a stinking good news story ;)
For 25 years, the town of St. Mary's, Newfoundland has smelled like 110 vats of rotting fish sauce.
This morning, the first truckload finally left.
The Atlantic Seafood Sauce Company shut down a quarter-century ago and simply walked away, leaving behind vats of fermenting capelin and herring. Each one stands three metres tall and holds about 12,500 litres. The bottoms rusted out. The floor in places is thirty centimetres deep in sludge.
